My name is Collins Were Ong’eta. I reside in Nairobi, Kenya. I am a graduate from The University of Nairobi where I studied Bachelor of Commerce-Human Resource (HR) Management Option. So far I have 4 years of experience in the HR field as an HR Assistant.

My aspiration is to one day be the Head of the HR Department in an organisation. I believe I have the necessary qualities and abilities to execute the position with integrity and precision. 

I joined SkilledUp Life in August 2021 and I can say it was the best decision for my career growth. The reason I decided to sign up was to gain more experience in the HR field and also be exposed to platforms that will enhance my productivity and effectiveness within the organisation. When I joined, I had zero experience in interviewing. SkilledUp life gave me an opportunity to learn more about the recruitment process and how to source for best-fit Volunteers for various roles within the organisation. I have been able to interview the majority of Volunteers from different nationalities who are currently volunteering with SkilledUp life. I have also learned a lot from my colleagues and am grateful for their continued support.

The interviewing experience has enabled me to grow as an HR professional and has also given me the confidence to interview candidates without any hesitation.
My volunteering period ended but I decided to extend because I believe learning never ends. I want to encourage those who haven’t signed up to please do and apply as this opportunity will impact your career positively.

Finally, I want to thank Manoj for granting me this opportunity to learn and even as I continue volunteering, I know more success and experience await ahead.
