There is a learning curve to get the best out of SkilledUp Lifers. This cannot be achieved overnight.

Start with HR & EA combo

We recommend you take on a Human Resources (HR) volunteer and an Executive Assistant (EA) Volunteer first. 

HR Volunteer will help you to source and recruit best-fit SkilledUp Lifers for you. The EA Volunteer will help improve your own productivity.

Once you have the combo in place, you can start to develop teams of volunteers, based on your specific needs.

Getting started

Follow the steps below to get started. Step 2 and 3 can be reversed, i.e. you can build the Company Profile after subscribing.

Step 1 - Sign Up for a Company Account

Click on the top right to Sign Up. Make sure you select Company tab from the pop up. Otherwise you might end up creating a Volunteer account by mistake.

Step 2 - Build your
Company Profile

Make the company profile inspirational. Explain what you are building, the progress achieved to date and why should SkilledUp Lifers should volunteer for you. Don't forget to introduce your key team members. ​

Step 3 - Subscribe to
Advanced Plan

Visit the Pricing Page to subscribe. You can also subscribe from the Dashboard by clicking on the Post button on the menu but this method is long and can be confusing. It's better to subscribe from the Pricing page.

Step 4 - Post Volunteer Opportunities

Follow the recommended template to post Opportunities. Make it compelling to grab Volunteer attention and highlight the experience and skills that can be gained. Ensure the disclaimer is added at the bottom.

Step 5 - Recruit the best fit Volunteers

Use pre-qualification questionnaires and short interviews to select the best-fit applicants. Be proactive and search the database and not just wait for volunteers to apply. Go the extra mile.

Step 6 - Manage via the
Dashboard

Use the Dashboard to manage Opportunities, review Applicants and communicate with them.​ ​Make sure you only Approve after both parties have signed the Volunteer Agreement. Send reasons for rejections.

Step 7- Start by recruiting
an HR and EA Combo

Start by first recruiting an HR Volunteer to find best-fit SkilledUp Lifers and an Executive Assistant (EA) Volunteer to improve your own productivity. We will provide training for the HR Volunteer to unlock the 40,000 skilled volunteer talent base.

Step 8 - Start building
teams

Once you have a trained HR Volunteer in place, you can start to build teams. You may want to grab a 30 minute call with our CEO to understand how best to design and structure the organisation to ensure SkilledUp Lifers fit well with your existing team.

Advanced Plan Features

There is no limit to how many SkilledUp Lifers (Volunteers) you can recruit into your team. We suggest you take the time to learn and not try to onboard a large number in the first month. 

Support is available via Tawk chat on the bottom right of our website. Make sure you use this service to get the maximum out of your subscription. 

Please modify as you see fit the Volunteer Agreement Template made available to you. Do not engage with a Volunteer without both parties signing the Volunteer Agreement. 

Please use the Knowledge Base to learn as much as possible on how SkilledUp Life operates as well as how to build and sustain your team using SkilledUp Lifers.

Instead of adding one or two SkilledUp Lifers, with the Advanced Plan, you can start to build teams from Product to Marketing and Sales, as we have done. 

We are developing a template pack to go with the Advanced Plan.

We will try our best to help you succeed with SkilledUp Life. Advanced support including sharing our knowledge with you on building successful volunteer teams.

We highly recommend that you start the journey by first appointing a HR Volunteer who can help you source the best-fit SkilledUp Lifers. Once selected and upon your request, we will provide the necessary training for your HR Volunteer.

With access to unlimited SkilledUp Lifers comes with a challenge – how to design and structure the organisation. We can provide guidance having gone through the same stage ourselves.

One time 30 mins planning session with our CEO who is well experienced in building tech companies is included in the Advanced Plan.

Company profile management includes:

  • Change Company Profile URL.
  • Manage Company basic data such as name, year founded, email address, website address, phone number and categories.
  • Introduction to the Company.
  • Location.
  • Size of the organisation.
  • Link to introductory video.
  • Manage company social networks.
  • Manage team members.

Opportunity Management functionality includes:

  • Unlimited Volunteer Opportunity postings.
  • Update Opportunities any time after posting.
  • Ability to extend 30 day auto expiry of Opportunities.
  • Change status of Opportunities, e.g. filled.

Application Management functionality includes:

  • Review latest applicants.
  • Review applicants against each Opportunity.
  • Favourite applicants.
  • Reject applicants. We recommend that you send a direct message explaining the reason for rejection.
  • Approve applicants after signing the Volunteer Agreement.

Direct messaging functionality includes:

  • Ability to direct message Volunteers.
  • Ability to respond to direct messages from Volunteers.

Subscription management functionality include:

  • View recent orders.
  • Manage current subscriptions.
  • Manage billing address.
  • Manage payment method.

User account management functionality includes:

  • Login.
  • Reset password.
  • Account deletion.

Once subscribed, we will start to help you by adding you to our bespoke Customer Hub. We will then setup a call to understand your tech company and your aspirations for the next 12 to 18 months. Then we will start suggesting the best way forward to help you leverage our 40,000 skilled volunteers.
