The opportunity to volunteer through SkilledUp Life is available to anyone, from anywhere in the world, as long as the person is 18 years  or older. This is an opportunity that you can undertake alongside other responsibilities like higher education, internships, employment, or contract as it only requires 2-3 hours of your time every work day for the period of three months.

Completing A SkilledUp Life Profile

• Registering for an account, log in, and Dashboard

To register, you would need to visit the SkillledUp Life website at www.skilledup.life. Click on the VOLUNTEER button (This is readily visible on the website’s homepage). 

To create your account you would need to supply your Phone Number, Email, Username, Career Category, and Password. Once this is done, your volunteer accounts gets created and you can log in to your dashboard from where you can administer you volunteer profile.

• Update profile, Skills, and Experiences

Once your account has been created, you will then have to fill your profile details to at least 70%. When you visit the dashboard, the left sidebar menu on the dashboard gives you  a list of tabs. Select Update Profile from list to update your profile with the required information. These details include your About Me, Education Details, Experience, Portfolio, Skills, and Contact Details – all of these can be done through your volunteer dashboard. Do the same for the Update Skills and Experiences (resume) option – this helps you complete filling all the fields.

Having your profile fully completed helps companies make informed decisions when considering you as a volunteer. So as a volunteer, when updating your profile under the description, explain the type of opportunities you would like to be involved in and the time you can commit per week and month.

• Search for your ideal Opportunity

Once your profile is completely updated the next step is for you to look for opportunities that you can volunteer in. On the SkilledUp Life Home page there is an Opportunities tab. In order to explore the currently listed Opportunities go to the Opportunities tab and see the available opportunities if you don’t find the type of opportunities that you are interested in, do let us know to link up with companies and create matching Opportunities for you where possible.

4- Following companies and shortlisting Opportunities

Technology startups publish different opportunities on the SkilledUp Life platform. If you go to the Opportunities tab on the SkilledUp Life home page you will have access to all the opportunities starting from the most recently published ones. To choose opportunities of your interest you may use filters on the right sidebar. 

• Applying and engaging with Companies through messaging

You can engage with startups whom you have applied to their roles. From the opportunity page, once you click on the opportunity in full detail and see that the opportunity interests you, Use ‘Apply Now” to apply for the Opportunity. And once you have applied for an Opportunity, then use “Contact Us”  to reach out to the Company through built-in messaging.

6- Account management through the dashboard

You can log in to the dashboard to manage your opportunities, the companies followed short listings, applications, and messages.

 You can also manage your account with other functionalities like;

• Change password
• Logout
• Delete account.

Please note that if you delete your account by mistake, we do not have backups to call from.
