HR and recruitment

Since Elise created our HR Team back in August to Oct 2021, we have continued to thrive and increase our knowledge on the subject of recruitment and performance. We are currently discussing a way to offer an even broader level of HR experience. Current thoughts are:

  • Term 1 – Recruitment via external channels, mainly social. This team is run by our Head of Talent Acquisition, Mithun
  • Term 2 – A leadership role where you would manage a team of individuals serving their Term 1. Only the best-performing individuals will be offered these roles. These roles can also be split into regions and countries where you would build a regional or country team, e.g. South Africa, South East Asia, South America, etc.
  • Term 3 – Join the HR Team run by Cecilia where you will gain experience in on-boarding and off-boarding, training and performance management.
  • Term 4 – Join one of our customers as Head of Talent.

That would take a whole year and would require significant dedication and commitment – there can be gaps between Terms to suit your life commitments. I hear that many people go on to land a job after completing the first term with us – we need to be better at capturing and sharing these success stories. We have a number of individuals continuing with Term 2 now under the leadership of Mithun.

Recruitment teams

We also recruit straight into the HR team and this has been the practice to date for Cecilia’s team. But we now need to look at the large picture and accept that we are in the business of “talent development”.

Many of those volunteering with us have jobs and they join us to improve their career. If you are unemployed, we encourage you to find employment after serving a Term as it’s important that you put what you learned through us into practice and improve your career and livelihood.

Oh, I just realised that we could also allow recruitment through our Tawk Support, giving even more experience to our teammates. This is how I recruit most of the time, but I didn’t think of bringing it into the recruitment and HR mix. Will talk more about this internally. I just interviewed Ashley who wants to join our Talent Acquisition Team.
