About Me
Hi, I’m Mmedara. I’m currently a volunteer co-coordinator of a cybersecurity channel of the social enterprise, Nexascale. I initially studied architecture and now I’m transitioning to a career in cybersecurity focusing on fraud prevention. It has been worth the journey graduating from an experience as a Digital Forensic and Threat Intelligence trainee with the CyberGirls Fellowship and participating in various cybersecurity skill-building initiatives but I felt something was missing.
You see my drive to work in tech is fueled by my experience of helping close relations and colleagues figure out how to use devices or how to use a SaaS tool (etc) so my onboarding skills are fueled by my patience superpower. I enjoy the sigh of relief people I help let out when everything is working fine, it gives me literal butterflies in my tummy. So when my tutor got robbed from their blockchain wallet I got pretty angry about fraud happening on “secure” blockchain because I didn’t know how to help – hence my transition.
I am seeking a role in which I can talk with people about an issue and solve it, a role where I’m my competition in response time like a game of quick draw in the mirror, where I can chat like I do every day and make a customer feel heard, where I can learn while working and seek new opportunities for my employer to improve productivity, effectiveness and possibly revenue.
I recently took up training to learn the CRM tools and tricks being used for support so I can upgrade my passionate self – for instance; Altsassian suite, Zendesk, ClickUp, Intercom and many more. While I improve on being a fraud prevention specialist, I want to enjoy helping out. I can’t wait to hear from you about how I can help out!
