Hello, my name is Shirleen, I am a self-taught full-stack developer with experience building web applications with a concentration in JavaScipt & React.js. I am experienced with version control, Front-End and Back-end tools (CSS, JavaScript, React, Redux, Hooks) to build fully functional web apps. Currently learning testing, performance & security issues, docker, redis, and CI/CD.

I haven’t had working experience as a web developer in a company, hence I want to join your volunteer program to get real experience working in a team in an organization and working on a real project. I am a career switcher, I have around 4 years of work experience, and now I am pursuing a career as a web developer. The reason for that is because of my passion for tech and software development. I am fascinated by the power and possibility of what a software/ web developer can do, and how much impact that we can do on the business and the user. I aspire to be a great full-stack web developer (concentration in React Web Developer) that can solve people’s problems and help them with my skill.
You might have seen many developers who have better skills and are more experienced than me now, but finding a great, self-driven developer who strives to learn and improve her/himself every day and contributes is rare. I am confident that I can give a positive contribution, even as a web developer volunteer/ intern to your team.

Currently working on personal projects, I have successfully built 2 fully functional web apps with responsive web design, database, and server, as well as integrated with API. Projects built: 1. Faces Detection Brain (see here: https://smartfaces.netlify.app/) • A fully functional web application that stores user information (name, email, password), accepts an image URL as input, and uses Clarifai Face Detection Web API to detect faces in the image. Built with JavaScript, React.js (Frontend), Node.js, Express.js (Server) PostgreSQL, knex.js (Database), CSS, and HTML. Deployed to Netlify & render. 2.Robofriends app (see here: https://shirleenoey.github.io/robofriends_shirleen/ ) • A fully interactive web application that uses fake REST API to generate a random image of robots and let users search for the robot's name. Use Progressive Web Apps technology to increase performance. Built with React.js, JavaScript, Node.js, CSS, and HTML. 3. Personal Portfolio Website https://shirleenoey.netlify.app/ • A simple and light static site build with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to display portfolio and personal contact information. Use a customizable color theme with a color picker on the right side so the user can choose the site theme color. Deployed to Netlify.
