Do you know any University which treats its students as customers?

You pay £9250 to gain a qualification in the U.K. which does not guarantee a job afterward.

I paid over £21,000 from 2002 to 2005 to gain my Executive MBA from Manchester Business School. My father paid for my undergraduate degree from 1988 to 1992, which included a year of gaining work experience at CEGELEC Pic in Leicester.

Whilst Universities offer career fares (then known as milk rounds – what a name?) and have career management services, they do not guarantee jobs.

Given the scarcity of jobs and the increasing threat by Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other technologies, the scarcity will accelerate. Hence the debate about the need to introduce Global Basic Income.

Whilst large employers still value a degree from a great University, most SMEs prefer real experiences and skills.

Where do you go to get experience? There are internships. But they are rare. What about those who cannot secure paid or unpaid internships?

Why not add real experiences and skills to ensure you increase the odds of landing your first job via SkilledUp Life?

Please note that SkilledUp Life is not a substitute for paid internships or structured training programmes. But it can help you significantly. You can gain additional experiences and skills through SkilledUp Life whilst undertaking a job, paid or unpaid internship, continuing with your degree, taking a bootcamp, or any other. It’s flexible.

I remember the University of Manchester’s slide deck from the past which showed £1bn revenues. Worth reading the article. It’s long but insightful.
