About Me

My name is Willer Gianni Torrico Arispe, and I am an agricultural engineer with experience in data analysis and data science. I am from Bolivia and was born on May 27, 1986, in Cochabamba, Bolivia. I hold a Master’s degree in Integrated Water Resources Management and also a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering. Currently, I reside in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Regarding my academic background, I completed a diploma in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing from Universidad Mayor de San Simón, another diploma in Environmental Management from Universidad Juan Misael Saracho, and a fourth diploma in Hydraulic Engineering Design from Universidad San Sebastián. Later, I completed a Master’s degree in Integrated Water Resources Management at the University of San Simón. Additionally, I specialized as a Junior Full Stack Developer in “Argentina Programa” and completed a specialized program in Data Science from the International Business Machines Corporation (IBM).

Throughout my career, I have participated in various courses and workshops related to my field of study. I have gained knowledge in good agricultural practices, environmental management, geographic information systems, and topics related to data science and data analysis.

In terms of work experience, I have worked in different organizations and projects. I have served as a technician in the Risk Management Unit at the Autonomous Departmental Government of Cochabamba, where I participated in the creation of risk maps, identification of areas affected by climate change, and projects for climate risk prevention and control. I have also worked as an environmental technician in the same departmental government, conducting environmental inspections, reviewing environmental documents, and using geographic information system tools for environmental assessments.

Furthermore, I have worked as a consultant on various projects, including irrigation efficiency consulting, experiences in technified irrigation in the Bolivian Chaco, and environmental management. I have also collaborated with the National Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research (INIAF) in information systematization and statistical package management, as well as with the National Electricity Company Corporation in information systematization for the “Rositas” hydroelectric project. I have also worked in data monitoring and analysis institutions regarding investment aspects in Bolivia, as well as with the Inter-American Development Bank for monitoring Bolivia’s key routes.

My personal skills include teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, and continuous learning. In terms of computer skills, I have experience in using Microsoft Office, GIS software, statistical packages, irrigation software, and programming.

In summary, I am an agricultural engineer with experience in data analysis and water resources management. My academic background and work experience have provided me with strong skills in data science, data analysis, and the use of GIS tools. I am focused on continuous learning and always seek opportunities to apply my knowledge and skills in projects related to data science and data analysis.

Currently, due to family and force majeure reasons, I had to move to Argentina, a country that has provided me with the opportunity to train as a data scientist, where I would like to practice this noble profession.
