Kuye Damilola

About Me

My name is Kuye Damilola, and I’m a third-year Computer Engineering undergraduate at the University of Lagos. I’m a Software Engineer with strong fundamentals in backend engineering and I am passionate about building scalable and robust systems on the backend and using technology to tackle significant challenges.

My technical skills include knowledge of programming languages like Python, Javascript, Typescript, and C++, as well as experience with tools like Node JS, Django, Docker, Postgres SQL, and Mongo DB. I also have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

In addition to my technical skills, I’m a strong communicator and problem solver who thrives in fast-paced and collaborative environments. I’m always seeking opportunities to learn about new technologies and stay current in my field.

Last Summer, I interned as a Backend Developer at Zuri Team, where I collaborated with a team of 5 Backend Developer Interns to build the backend API for an application that makes student loan payments easier. My significant contribution to the project includes using AWS S3 to serve static files which optimized the application’s performance. I also configured Celery and redis to run asynchronous tasks like sending emails and this optimized the speed of the API.

My personal projects include an E-commerce API that I built using Python, Django RestFramework, and Docker. The platform is scalable and secure, providing a reliable platform for online transactions. I also created a blog using HTML, CSS, bootstrap, and flask, to serve as a platform for students to share their thoughts and suggestions on an educational strike that lasted about 8 months in Nigeria. The blog attracted students across my college and helped raise awareness about the issue.

I completed an Udacity FullStack Nanodegree, where I built a working full-stack application to help artists find venues easily. I learned how to utilize JWT and AuthO for authentication and AWS Cloud Formation and Docker to deploy backend applications. Additionally, I hold a Google IT Support Professional Certificate, where I gained expertise in networking, IT Security, and System Administration.
