William Avelar
About Me
Hello there,
My name is William Avelar and I am an inspiring UX designer looking to create meaningful experiences for all users. Coming from a product design background as a commercial Head Routesetter, I have developed a solid foundation for empathizing with users and using my critical thinking to provide engaging products for everyone. It is not without working with my peers that I was able to achieve this. I am quite comfortable working in complex environments and adapting whether it be a fast or slowed paced work environment. Highly open to any positions and all opportunities to facilitate those who may benefit from my skillset.
Work & Experience
Routesetter
Hangar 18 Climbing Gyms
Work under the direction of a Head Routesetter to provide a valuable service to the gym members on a bi-weekly basis. Used ingenuity and creativity to design new products for members that were both engaging and accessible to a wide demographic which includes but is not limited to older adults, young adults, teens, children, and individuals with disabilities.
Head Routsetter
Hangar 18 Climbing Gyms
Manages the Routesetting team to provide bi-weekly updates to the gym's facility for it's members. Uses a collection of feedback gathered from management , staff and members to provide a service that is inclusive to the product demographic. Increased the accessibility of climbing for a wider demographic by restructuring the methodology behind routesetting.
