Work & Experience

Intern

DPD

07/13/2015 - 07/17/2015

In this placement, I worked alongside the customer services department. I shadowed my tutor and practised a range of activities such as handling customer complaints professionally and appropriately face-to-face and via telephone. I also worked with the engineering department to find solutions to problems that were occurring within transportation, this increased the productivity of DPD as servicing vehicles had to be done within a set timeframe to minimise unsatisfied customers.

Volunteer

Balaji Temple

11/01/2014 - 09/01/2018

This role required me to work under pressure at one of the largest temples in Europe serving up to a thousand people who visited on the weekend, causing the environment to be fast paced. I organised dinner servings by setting up roughly 1000 plates and distributing food. I received positive comments from guests as they felt welcomed and satisfied with the service.

Dominos Pizza assistant

Dominos Pizza

11/01/2016 - 09/14/2019

During my time at Dominos, I answered phone calls, served customers over the till, prepared food within a strict time frame and cashed up at the end of the shift. I used my knowledge gained from business studies to upsell products to customers which resulted in a 30% sales increase. The franchisee wanted me to train and inform other team members on how to upsell, this would achieve their end of week sales goals by increasing revenue. Furthermore, the managers gave me more responsibility by managing the store independently while they were absent, this enhanced my leadership skills by task delegation and clear communication.

Intern

Bright Network

12/01/2020 - 01/01/2021

As an intern, I had the opportunity to create a presentation for industry leaders including HSBC UK, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and Macquarie. The goal was to research British Airways and choose the best aviation company to merge with, using investment banking techniques such as valuation methodologies, trading & transactional comparable and data analysis.
