About Me

Currently, I work in business development for a Canadian education company (dealing with Social and Emotional Learning or SEL). I have been dealing in sales and business development for the past 7 years mostly in the education industry.

I started as an English teacher for an English course owned by an Indonesian company then moved up to the position of Branch Superintendent where I started to handle business development and daily operations.

After this position, I was reassigned to handle marketing and sales for the same company until I resigned and worked for a Singaporean education company. The core business of the company was selling curriculum based on Social and Emotional Learning to schools (preschools, kindergarten and elementary), publishers, organizations (NGO or Government) and other entities that might have an interest in SEL for early childhood development. My main roles in the company were to:

1.      Call, email and arrange meetings with potential clients

2.      Accompany my directress to meetings (virtually and on-site e.g. to Malaysia).

3.      Check promotional videos and ads

4.      Draw up new proposals, terms and conditions and price list

5.      Maintain the company calendar event and schedule

6.      Assure that the team keeps up with its KPIs (based on the number of sent emails, calls, and meetings).

7.      Come up with new business ideas

For schools and publishers, I was tasked to handle markets mainly in South East Asia, South Asia and Australia, however, for special occasions like when we participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair, I had to contact and set up meetings with potential clients from all around the world.

The current company I am with also requires me to deal with business development but strictly on the sales side of it. My responsibility to the company is to open new business routes in Singapore as a way into the South East Asian market. I have worked for companies in different industries, allowing me to be more adaptable to any line of business. I am also a very curious individual who is eager to always learn and improve his understanding of the company he is in.

My main goal in life apart from learning is to be useful for others around me and try to leave an impactful impression that will lead to further development of anyone who is interested in listening and discussing their future endeavors.

My current plan is to work and develop my own business related to education and agriculture and hopefully be able to merge those two into a interacting business enterprise.
