About Me

I am a detail-oriented young Lawyer, called to the Nigerian Bar. I am highly enthusiastic about internet governance and the digitalization of the legal profession. My practice is focused on litigation and legal advisory and I intend to leverage my courtroom/advocacy experience, analytical reasoning and excellently proficient legal research, drafting, negotiation and networking skills to efficiently profer solutions to the local and global legal and transactional needs of my clients. Frequently described as proactive, I can be relied upon to proactively avert and/or manage legal liability.

 Drafted and reviewed court processes filed across all courts of superior record in Nigeria.  Acquired cognate experience in litigation through appearances in oil & gas, real estate, contractual, criminal and other complicated legal matters before superior courts in Nigeria up to appellate level.  Regularly interfaced with industry regulatory bodies such as the Corporate Affairs Commission, Nigerian Communications Commission, National Electricity Regulatory Commission, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service.  Provided a wide range of services for start-ups and other corporate clients in respect of pre-incorporation and post-incorporation. I also negotiated and drafted commercial contracts on restructuring, shareholding and partnerships.

 Prepared an extensive and comprehensive review of the contents of the Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 2021, across its various stages at the National Assembly, and made an analytical comparison of it with the Electoral Act, 2010, to evaluate the incorporation of the recommendations made by Fix Politics Initiative in the Bill.  Worked closely with the Executive Director in conducting research on legal and political topics which guided the organization in taking positions on several issues.  Internally mobilized members of my Work-Study Group, under the supervision of my Co-Chair, towards launching a mass national petition on change.org, for the inclusion of referendum as a means of constitutional amendment or reenactment.

 Developed reviews and arguments for and against the Child’s Rights (Amendment), Open Rearing and Grazing (Prohibition), Value Added Tax Bills, among others, which were debated on the floor of the House and passed into law in 2021.  Exchanged official correspondence with the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP), Association of Water Producers, other natural and corporate persons, and regularly interfaced with the Executive arm of the Rivers State Government.  Wrote speeches and other addresses delivered by my principal at various legislative, official and political functions.  Provided general legal counsel on electoral and legislative matters, and constituency relations.
