David Sam

About Me

David is a management graduate working in the healthcare sector of medical devices with over eight years’ experience in business development, project management and consulting roles, selling turnkey hospital solutions. He has been involved in several multimillion dollar hospital and equipment acquisition projects in Ghana as well as spear-heading a number of innovative public-private partnership initiatives to advance health access.

An avid learner, he actively seeks out continuous education on areas which can position him to be of greatest impact, pursuing courses in biomedical Imaging, health systems strengthening and humanitarian related fields from Harvard, University of Adelaide, University of Queensland, Yale and Nossal Institue of Global Health – University of Melbourne.

He has entrepreneurial experience Co-Founding a company, MED IT, because of the need he noticed for electronic medical records in the healthcare sector. David is a member of the Common Purpose-Commonwealth100 Youth and the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). He advocates for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) championing the improvement in the delivery of quality, safety and equity in healthcare through technology, corporate social investment and humanitarian action, and serving as a volunteer for United Nations and Mercy Ships Africa.

David is committed to leveraging his unique skill set, expertise, exposure and learning in contributing to the efforts of global healthcare, technology and development not only in Ghana but Africa and other Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
