About the Volunteer Opportunity

Are you passionate about creating a smooth, welcoming experience for new team members? Do you enjoy coordinating details, organizing information, and making sure everyone has what they need to succeed? Join us as a Volunteer HR Admin and play a crucial role in onboarding, offboarding, and supporting our volunteers throughout their SkilledUp Life journey!

Duration

  • 3 months (60 volunteer days)
  • At least 3 hours per day
  • Part – time
  • Remote

Volunteer Activities 

Working with our CEO and Human Resource Team, your volunteer role includes:

  • Coordinate with the CEO to ensure each new volunteer is set up with the necessary email account, Google Workspace, and access to relevant email groups.
  • Send a welcome email that includes account credentials, the Volunteer Handbook link, and key resources
  • Schedule and conduct onboarding sessions
  • Oversee and organize transition interviews for volunteers, ensuring a smooth internal process.
  • Manage the offboarding survey and schedule exit interviews.
  • Keep a clear record of Volunteer Agreements and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Clear any outstanding backlog and prevent new backlog from accumulating.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication to liaise with volunteers, team leads, and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and Trello (or willingness to learn) for coordination and task management.
  • Eagerness to promote a supportive team culture and celebrate volunteer milestones.
  • Comfort with a dynamic environment where needs can change, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Background in Human Resources or a related field (formal education preferred, but not strictly required if you have demonstrable experience).

Acquired Skills

As an HR Admin Volunteer at SkilledUp Life, you will gain:

  • Practical HR administration experience through direct involvement in onboarding, offboarding, and volunteer lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills by interacting with volunteers, team leads, and senior leadership to ensure smooth operational processes.
  • Familiarity with HR tools and systems, including Google Workspace, Slack, and Trello, which are essential for collaborative work in modern remote environments.
  • Organizational and time management skills by managing onboarding sessions, exit interviews, and keeping volunteer records up-to-date.
  • Experience in handling confidential information responsibly, particularly regarding Volunteer Agreements and offboarding documentation.
  • Insight into employee engagement strategies by helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for global volunteers.
  • Hands-on exposure to compliance and documentation, reinforcing attention to detail and process accuracy.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment, learning to manage changing priorities and resolving operational challenges efficiently.
  • Collaborative problem-solving skills, especially when coordinating between different departments and managing overlapping administrative duties.
