About the Opportunity:

We are looking for dedicated and passionate research volunteers to help us validate our concept and bring our vision to life. We’re in the ideation phase, developing a personal use wearable device and app to enhance focus and cognitive abilities for individuals with anxiety, ADHD and learning disabilities. If you’re passionate about mental health and tech, we’re looking for you to help shape the future of mental health tech.

Volunteer Activities:

  • Qualitative and Quantitative Market Research: Dive deep into market trends, consumer behaviours, and competitor analysis to help us understand the landscape we’re entering.
  • Concept Validation Surveys: Help us gather valuable insights from potential users through well-crafted surveys designed to validate our product concept and identify areas for improvement.
  • Industry Landscape Research: Explore the broader industry landscape, uncovering key players, emerging trends, and potential partnership opportunities.
  • Barrier to Entry Research and Market Opportunities: Assist us in identifying potential obstacles to market entry and uncovering untapped market opportunities beyond those already identified.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in English Language – both written and spoken.
  • Experience in Market Research: Volunteers should have prior experience or a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative market research methods. This includes familiarity with data collection techniques, analysis tools, and interpretation of market trends.
  • Knowledge of Survey Design: Volunteers should possess skills in designing effective concept validation surveys. This involves crafting questions that elicit valuable insights from target demographics while ensuring survey validity and reliability.
  • Understanding of Industry Landscape: Volunteers should demonstrate knowledge or a willingness to research the biofeedback and neurofeedback therapy industry landscape related to mental health tech and wearable devices. This includes identifying key players, market trends, and potential opportunities or challenges.
  • Analytical Skills: Volunteers must be capable of analysing data gathered from market research and surveys to derive meaningful conclusions. Strong analytical skills are crucial for interpreting findings and making informed decisions during the concept validation process.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are essential for volunteers to convey research findings, insights, and recommendations to the khumo.io team.
  • Attention to Detail: Concept validation requires meticulous attention to detail to identify nuances in market data, survey responses, and industry trends. Volunteers should demonstrate a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in their work.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Volunteers may encounter challenges or uncertainties during the concept validation process. Strong problem-solving abilities enable volunteers to overcome obstacles, adapt research methodologies as needed, and contribute to the success of the project.
  • Commitment to the Cause: Ideal candidates should have a passionate for mental health advocacy and the mission of khumo.io.

Preferred Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent and/or
  • Coursework in Market Research or Survey Design  and/or
  • Specialisation in Mental Health or Neuroscience – Individuals with a background in mental health, neuroscience, or related fields bring valuable expertise to the table. Educational experiences focused on understanding cognitive processes, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions can enhance the quality of research and insights generated.

Duration:

  • Commitment of 2-3 hours per day.
  • 3 months (60 working days).
  • Remote opportunity.
