About Me
INTRODUCTION
I am a graduate of Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. My passion for healthcare and a desire to make a positive impact led me to embark on a journey of volunteering and academic exploration.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
During my undergraduate years, I volunteered with an NGO that provided free medical care. This experience exposed me to the challenges faced by underserved communities and ignited my desire to contribute to their well-being. I also took on the role of publicity for one of the organization’s training academies; where I honed my skills in graphics design using Canva and video creation with InShot.
ACADEMIC PURSUITS AND RESEARCH
My academic journey was not limited to the classroom. I was part of a research team that annotated bacteriophage gene sequences. This project allowed me to delve into the fascinating world of microbiology and develop a strong foundation in scientific research. Presenting our findings at World Phage Week and other conferences further fueled my passion for scientific inquiry and communication.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ASPIRATION
I’ve not limited myself to academics. So far, I’ve completed two courses in SEO writing from the HubSpot Academy and still taking more. This experience has equipped me with the skills to create engaging and informative content. I’ve also had the opportunity to gain practical experience as an intern under a seasoned professional. I have skills in graphic design using Canva and Corel draw, proficiency in the use of excel for analysis and learning to use python programming for the same course.
IDEAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
I’m seeking a volunteer opportunity that will allow me to leverage my skills and contribute meaningfully to a cause I believe in. I’m particularly interested in working with organizations focusing on healthcare, education, or scientific research. I’m eager to join a dynamic team where I can learn from experienced professionals, collaborate on innovative projects, and make a lasting impact.
I recently concluded an 8-week program by ALX Africa where we are being trained as virtual assistants. I am willing to commit 2 hours per day to volunteer for the time frame of 3 months.
THANK YOU.
