I’m happy to announce that we went past the 12,000 total Volunteers mini milestone early this morning. August has turned out to be a slow month for SkilledUp Life, mainly due to:

  • It’s the month after year-end and the team including me seems to let the guard down.
  • Most people are on holiday or in a holiday mood even though our team members aren’t.

But nevertheless, the mini milestone is a good chance to share a few graphs. Let’s start with our monthly performance in the first year from 1st Aug 2020 to 31st July 2021. Our target was to acquire 1,000 Volunteers in the first 12 months, which we accomplished with 24 hours to spare.

Year 1 (2020_21) - Volunteer Acquisition
Year 1 (2020/21) – Volunteer Acquisition

Our Year 2 target was to acquire 10,000 Volunteers. We achieved this 9 days after the deadline on 9th September 2022.

Year 2 (2021_22) - Volunteer Acquisition

Year 2 (2021/22) – Volunteer Acquisition

Whilst there are still over 16 hours left to the end of 31st Aug 2022, here’s a chart showing our performance from Day 1.

Monthly Volunteer Acquisition - Since 1st Aug 2020
Monthly Volunteer Acquisition – Since 1st Aug 2020

The chart below shows the time it took to acquire 1,000 Volunteers. The shortest it took was 5 days. But the last 1000 took 22 days, which is worrying, to say the least.

Time took to acquire 1000 Volunteers

In our 3rd year, which we started on 1st August 2022, we need to acquire 100,000 new Volunteers. We now have 11 months left, which means, we need to acquire:

  • 296 Volunteers every day.
  • 2,075 Volunteers every week.
  • 8,999 Volunteers every month.

Our strategy has three elements:

  • Targeted Volunteer acquisitions.
  • Partnerships – we need to partner with more education providers whilst improving our relationships with the current partners.
  • Brand – we must continue to build the brand so that SkilledUp Life becomes known as the world’s best place to gain experience to improve career prospects.

Do wish us luck! Thank you.
