About Me

Hi my name is Luxman , I’m from Sri Lanka

First of all regarding my education, I have a degree in electrical engineering and partly completed an MSc in computer science which was based on Java. I’ve also done a number of IT courses including Linux administration, programming in C, Perl, Python, R, and some courses in data science and statistics.

Regarding work experience, I’ve worked in L3 enterprise-level IT support and services in operating systems and networks including Linux, Sun Solaris, databases such as MySQL and Oracle, and with regards to networking in Cisco, Alcatel, and HP The work I did includes capacity planning, performance tuning, and automation and creating monitoring systems. I have also experience setting up and configuring web servers such as Apache and Tomcat, Firewalls, and Unix-based email messaging systems and content filters.

Regarding programming, I’ve programmed automation and monitoring systems in Perl, and in Python language mainly for software testing, and currently learning and applying its use in data science projects.

I’ve solved complex problems at the enterprise level including server, network, and coding for automation

Over my career, I’ve architected a few systems including in monitoring systems, backup automation, server virtualization, and software programs for automation and monitoring both front end and back end – full-stack.

Regarding project management and teams, I worked an international level onsite and in virtual teams. I’m also PMP certified.

My current interests and area of study include Linux operating system, Python Programming, Data Science, and Cloud services in IaaS.

Regarding my traits, I’m a problem solver, a team player, a continuous learner, and have good communication and networking skills.
