About Me
Abdi Hassan is known as award winning graduate with BSc Honours Degree in Business Information Technology with Sandwich Year from Leeds Beckett University and with a Masters Degree in IT Management at Sheffield Hallam University whilst hoping to develop their career in technology afterwards and is a customer service focused individual with acumen in IT and Business combined with a willingness to learn and further their skills in many areas. Additionally, he is ITIL qualified and has MBCS status with The Britsh Computer Society.
Abdi possesses over 7 years of work experience including IT/AV Support, Events, Marketing, Security and Crowd Management, Administration and customer service and has comprehensive and extensive knowledge of business operations and development of IT systems. Further to this, he has volunteered extensively throughout his time at the university including being active course rep, former mature students rep at student council and former student trustee whilst volunteering at the highest levels achieving Beckett Award at Gold Level and winning highest award, The BCS IT Prize for Outstanding achievement due to excellent contributions made.

IT/AV Support Specialist
Leeds Beckett University
Completed 12 month placement as part of my degree for Leeds Beckett University as IT/AV Support Specialist. This is my first role directly in my field of study where I perform following duties including; • Successfully provide second line IT/AV support to university staff on operational and technical support for wide range of desktop, laptop, mobile, printing, audiovisual, media and telephony technologies as well as standard software applications and corporate systems and services including installation, modification and fault-finding & rectification for hardware and software. • Providing technical support for internal & external events and specialist teaching facilities. • Responsible for efficiently and effectively resolving all IT/AV incidents and service requests assigned to me by IT Help desk, Senior IT/AV Support Specialist and Support Services Manager. • Provide remote and in-person 2nd line support for IT/AV equipment and multimedia technologies in Learning and Teaching spaces, with a focus on a fast, efficient resolution. • Provide routine maintenance for all IT and AV equipment in Learning & Teaching spaces. • Build, image and configure various PC and Mac hardware devices • Co-ordinate office move of IT Equipment with Estate Services • Work on delivery of IT projects within Support Services team and IT Services
